I want the Go (speedy) part of my life back

I HATE transitional periods. I hate the I am have been "going to" move or that my husband was "going to" get a job or that I am "going to" have a baby. I have been in almost 8 months in transition. I want things settled. Well, todays I pretty good day for that. No waiting. Dave got a job on the 2nd and we are moving today. Just need to wait for the baby to be born now. I feel so bored being pregnant. I don't do anything on my own because if I miscarried or got hit by a car it would destroy me. So I sit in this apartment. I am a person who needs to be out doing things. I really need to change this mindset of being scared all the time about totally irrational things. I had done a really good job but than there were people who bitched about how this or that was dangerous, when its just because I am a woman. I just feel extra vulnerable right now. I think once the baby is on the outside I may worry a little but I will be more brave because I will be much more able to defend me and little Molly alot better. I won't raise my baby to be scared of anything. The Fearless Molly LOL.

I am totally on a origami crane kick right now everything is origami crane! For my birthday I went to color me mine and painted a bowl for Molly and Dave painted a coin bank for her. It was so much, I think Dave and I are definitely gonna do it again. I will post before and after pictures on here around the 7th because that when we are suppose to pick them up. Very excited. I had a wonderful birthday and the day after was a great celebration with my family.

I sent a postcard to postsecret but it still hasn't been published :(... it was a very good one too. I think the mail man steals them or something. The mail man hates me :-(....

I am have such a slacker lately...

The reason I haven't added anything is I have been really lazy in the taking pictures of stuff and of course the actually making of it. But about the weekend of the 18th of this month I am having a friend come visit me and we are gonna craft it up!!! LOL...

Origami Crane Doll

It sounds a whole lot easier than it is. I am going to make an origami crane doll. Well this is to start. I want to make a crane mobile for my baby. I have a mobile pattern but before I go and do that I want to practice making the doll. I have drawn out a very... very simple design. Hopefully it'll work. Each fold in a finished origami crane will be represented by decorative stitching. OMG I hope the first design works!!! I love origami cranes. There is nothing more elegant and lucky! I am a little scared to start this with good fabric because. its a test but if it turns out great I have an ugly fabric origami crane that it perfect. Then I'll make the next on and it'll be horrible! my luck LOL!

I guess it is just pure laziness that I haven't been doing this everyday. I have the time sure enough. I have just been discouraged with the sewing and such. I realized now what my mistake has been. I am cutting all the dolls to the size I want them to be and when they get sewn they become quite smaller, of course! It took a couple dolls to realize that. I have finished quite a few things though. I finished a quilt... more of a very thick quilt, an owl set in now complete (though I may make one more now), and and elephant was done long ago.

I am working on my veggie and fruit set still... old man strawberry is almost done. I have taken up some newer hobbies too. Which is why I might be distracted from this blogging business. I started reading a book well three books actually... I am not super mobile as of late. The fountainhead, There is a (slight) chance I am going to hell, and Slaughter house five. Each suited to the mood I am in. I also started baking more. Mostly muffins, a nice snack you know, already made or a quick breakfast. I had made these really good raspberry muffins and we ran out of those so I made peach cobbler muffins (very good!). I also opened a flick r account and am obsessed with that slightly. I went to the mall yesterday to take pictures and alas... I never did. I got side tracked with how tried I was and hungry. Oh well!


All this talking about food and sewing... I am gonna grab a muffin and try some new Larger patterns!!!

Miss Molly Dorothy!!!

Its my sweet baby girl smiling up at us!!!
She is healthy at 9 weeks and will be Molly Dorothy! I can't wait to meet her. I have so many different things to do. I never thought I was having a girl. My husband's family has all boys pretty much. Ok, new priority lists for crafting!!!

I need to make some girly stuff!!!
I will make some cutie baby kimonos, cloth baby shoes, burp cloths, a new quilt, and a lavender doll... as well as more shadow boxes for the nursery!!! I am so excited... I should work on the veggie and pirate doll too!!! Then get robots!!!

I have been working on remembering how to sew well. I stayed up real late doing that. I made two owl dolls that I mocked up after a design I liked. The original is much better check her out! If had the money I'd buy her stuff Pretty Little Things . Mine are a little less cute because of shoddy work and my warped changes which will make them darker. I also practiced making a giraffe/kangaroo. But it looks like a version of my dog! LOL.

I am gonna finish up my quilt and then move on from there. Get the veggie set down. I have to redo all the other ones. Which is fine I need to change a couple things and make them uber baby proof. I think I will start with the carrots. One realistic carrot and a carrot for the mobile (artsy).

I got my sewing machine about 9:00 o'clock and after Lost I have been sewing like a mad woman. I am remembering very quickly about the do's and do not's . I am starting to think some felt would make for some nice dolls. Less fraying and I need different colored thread beside green and black though I have come up with some pretty good owls. (Owls are my fall back subject. If I can't think of what to draw or something art related I do an owl)... They are so pretty and there's tons of thins to do with them. I definitely need practice on the sewing machine. :-) But I am ripping through my crafts list of to dos. I am gonna go
to bed now but I thought I'd post another link for Easter. I can't wait to do this!!! It is so easy and it looks as real as I would think. They also have a tutorial of the stand.

My first Shadow Box

This is my very first shadow box. It for my baby's nursery. I love the way carrots look. I cannot take credit for the artwork. This is decoupage. The artist (I love his work) is Nathan Jurevicius.
If by the off chance you reading this are indeed him and would like me to remove this O will do so at your request. I had a lot of fun with doing this. Got a hot glue gun (1.97 at walmart) and a couple burns on my fingers... especially my thumb. Ouch! I have an obsession with carrots right now. I love using them in art. I think I'll do some sketches of them. WOOT!!!

I would like to make another two like this to hang in the nursery. I just need to tie a ribbon to hang it with.

Having a glue gun opens so many crafting doors to gluing cloth and such. I just wish that I had more supplies. I have plenty of other projects to do but I am still waiting for a sewing machine. I traded it for one of those 3-d ultrasounds on Saturday!!! I am gonna print out lil baby pictures and send them out to my husband's family and my friend's. I am so excited. I get to find out the sex too. I didn't really trade the sewing machine, my husband will buy it for me any way. He really wants me to start sewing. I have a bunch of projects ready to go: cut and pinned together.
I have so many other projects from all the blogs I read and see.

Saturday feels like it will never come.

So here's the recent watermelon and tomato. I didn't do the corn it felt too complicated right now.



This is were my herbal and veggie garden will go at my soon to be new house in may!
It needs alot of TLC as you can see but I did a little work today. Baby steps. eh?




Here's the rest of the back yard. Need to put in a new fence and a retainer wall below the fence for a nice bed of flowers and bushes or something (rip out that wild ground cover). Gonna take that tree out and put in either the avocado tree or lemon tree. Make that sandy path into a cobblestone path and I want more lush grass because on the far left is where I am putting in the croquet course. On the far left is were the veggie garden will be. LOTs of changes there. get rid of sand and bring in soil. Build a cute white picket fence around it. Maybe put in a covered sand box. and turn he concrete area into a hop scotch area. Lots and lots of work.




Behold!!! All the change I have saved!!! It adds up to just enough to buy that sewing machine Yippee!!!
Soon I will be sewing with the homies. My husband has already setup a space for me and my machine.

Next post, I promise... will be the recipe to the cold curing spicy veggie packed soup!!!
Aztec Stone Soup!!!

Tomato... Tomoto...

I finished the tomato. I am really disappointed with how all these are turning out. I really need to get a sewing machine. The whole idea and concept is there but the quality of work is not. I am just not very good at hand stitching anything at all. Still don't have my camera... :-(. So no pictures.

I am gonna switch gears for a while and work on a book about the different types of religions. Since I am choosing to not raise my child in any particular religion but definitely spiritual and tolerant of everyone else's beliefs I am gonna make a book about Christianity, Mormonism, Catholicism, Islam, Jehovah's Witness-ism, Wiccan, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Judaism. I have some beautiful illustrations in my head for them. Words and info are very sketchy right now. I want my child to be able to choose their own religion. I don't want my child feeling guilty for every little thing like I did when I was brain washed with the scare tactics of an organized religion at such a young age. When my child is 18 he can pick a religion and practice one. But not until then. I don't want any organized religion influencing my child at all.

I need to get film too. Its been a long time since I could go take pictures and I really want to. I need some color film and my grandpas camera to meet today. But I don't think that will happen. I would also like to go over to my soon to be home and get the gardening project underway. Very exciting. Its such a beautiful day. I want to go outside and enjoy nature. But there are no nature to enjoy unless I go to the state park... which is only a few minutes away. But nearly impossible for me to get my hubby to stop being so cheap. :-(.

A last note. I made the fantastic Aztec Stone Soup again. Its a recipe for soup my husband and I made up. I love it on cold rainy days, which yesterday was, not today. It delicious! Kinda spicy in the back of your throat and chalk full of veggies! I'll post my watermelon, tomato, and soup with recipe tomorrow!!! I promise!!!

Watermelon Smirks

Watermelon... This one is my favorite the slanted grin... the starry eyes... I think I am in love. But i could see how I would change it. Make to conjoining sides of red and light green and a dark green wedge connecting them. I tried that but because of my brain being eaten by my baby... and ne seam rippers I messed up the same way twice and scrapped it to this... I really love my watermelon. I wish I could do more. I am just so tired though. All the time. Where's that 2nd trimester baby energy that the books say I am suppose to get?

I left my camera over at my mother's house so I don't have any pictures to show you of this watermelon at this time. But it will be coming.

I have started to work on the corn and well, its turning out to be tricky. The leaves are perplexing me. There a just so many options with them.

I have been wanting to explore new ways of eating veggies. Lately, most food has seemed really bland and boring. I saw this stuffed yellow tomato and it has inspired me to go forth and get awesome veggie recipes!!!

OKay... not great but ok.

I haven't sewn in a long, long time. And certainly not very good when it comes to hand stitching I need a sewing machine asap. I am looking at one from wal-mart for 56 dollars. If I could get that monies my projects would go fast, nicer, and less pain of stabbing my fingering with the needle would occur.

The first one I did was the carrot... he's my favorite really but not in real life... not a big fan of the orange sticks but then broccoli, eggplant, and green bean (which is my second fav and looks like a pea pod too). Real simple design. If I get a sewing machine I am gonna remake them for sure.

Next doll will be the watermelon. I think I will really enjoy making that one. But I am also working on another project which is a quilt for my baby. Its a raven themed quilt. We started making this when we were gonna name our baby atticus. Turned out after a while of thinking about it, I wasn't as wild about atticus as I thought. But I still wanna make the quilt.

Here's the two patches its made from so far out of 16 squares one has the raven sewn on. LOL.

Okay, almost done... I have to make my short to do list:

That should get me through the week and further, if I don't get a sewing machine I am 30 dollars away now. Wish me luck (also my pictures and dolls and such will be improving I promise!!!)

My first project for my first baby

I have fallen in love with craft blogs!

So since I have plenty of time and a baby on the way, I thought I'd give it a try.
I have designed and made a few dolls for my art classes before but this is a project for my baby. Veggie dolls... that way she'll have a positive on vegetables... well he or she.
